Invisible npcs need help badly
This is getting very bad for me i keep encountering them EVERYWHERE i can attack them and hear them and talk to them and if i set them on fire i can kinda see them moving but cannot see them. If i quit the game and reload some of them reappear but others don't and if they are dead looting them does nothing they are still invisible. I have come across many types of invisible enemy and managed to kill them thanks to my followers BUT i have just entered riften for the first time and from a distance i could SEE saphire (from the thieves guild) standing on the bridge talking to the guy from the stable BUT when i got to the bridge she slowly faded away and became invisible although i could still hear her. So i targeted her with the console and looked at her inventory she had on some thieves guild stuff and it said BAD EDITOR ID next to each piece so thinking it might be the armor i did a (removeallitems command) and it made no difference. I am also aware of the wet and cold bug and this is NOT that because they are not following me and are not in my house. I need help badly as it seems to be getting worse.

I have a bug where some NPC's have invisible clothes. Their head, hands, and weapon are visible, but their clothes are not. I do have the game modded, so no doubt it would be my fault. Any idea what may cause this and a fix for it?

Thanks

That's caused when you have a missing or improperly installed mesh file. The game is looking for the armor mesh and it's not there, so instead you have nothing. If it's on an NPC then you must have a mod that gives NPCs special, new or converted clothing. You'll have to figure out which mod it is and install it properly.

Alternatively, you can look for where the mesh file actually is in your game's file folders, and then move it manually to the correct place.

I am pretty sure that it is immersive armors

Knowing the file tree might help a little. In the Skyrim folder, the normal tree to get to the armor files is Skyrim/data/meshes/armor and Skyrim/data/textures/armor. (I think, not at my gaming computer). I'm guessing that if you looked you'd find something to the effect of this:

Skyrim/data/data/meshes/etc.

or perhaps

Skyrim/data/meshes/armor/armor

Odds are that both the meshes and textures are in the wrong location. If you can figure out Where they are, then you can move them to the proper location.

Thanks, I'll try that

I could not find the meshes. I even tried a manual install and it did not fix the problem

When you unzip the file from the Nexus, put it on your desktop and take a look inside it to see where everything is (and, thus, goes). It's possible that it uses a set of BSA archive files instead of loose files, too, since it's a big mod. Kind of flying blind without being able to see it myself.

Basically, if it does include BSA files, then those BSAs belong in the main Data folder. If it has a loose file tree, then that tree needs to be duplicated in your game file.

Thank you very much for the help. I am at work right now, so I will try this when i get home.

Why wouldn't you just use Nexus Mod Manager to install them? No unzipping necessary.

It is a mistake to think you can solve any major problems just with potatoes.

I used NMM to install it originally. I don't know if it is IA for sure or not.

Galmar (Ulfric's right hand man) is no body, head and hands only. The Battle'born guy in Whiterun, (name starts with an I) is just head and hands. I have also run into a number of bandits who are head and hands only as well. I have googled it to no end, and it seems others have had this problem as well. Which is why I have summized it to be IA. Could be something else entirely.

I am new to modding and doing my best to learn what I do to mess it all up
